Wondering what to expect in terms of a tax return?
Q. I just got married in Sept. My wife and I make about 70k combined. We're currently renting and both of us only claimed ourselves on our respective W-4. New to the whole married filing jointly so I'm just wondering what to expect in terms of a resund and if we even can file this way since we were married so late in the year. Would appreciate any valid response/comparison.

A. 1. Even if you get married on Dec 31, your status for the whole year is married. You can only file as Married Filing Jointly or Married Filing Separately. 2. If you have income and your spouse does not have income or has a very little income, then it is better to file as Married Filing Jointly. If both of you have almost equal income, then it won't make much difference. Also may credits and deductions are not available if you file Married Filing Separately. So normally you should file as Married Filing Jointly, unless there is a compelling reason to file otherwise. 3. This is from IRS publication 17: Your Federal Income Tax. Tip. If you and your spouse each have income, you may want to figure your tax both on a joint return and on… [cont.]

Wondering how most of you do your laundry?
Q. I've always done lights and darks seperate, and bleached towels and underwear. I even have to do a special load for sweaters, as I find the pilings and lint come off on my other clothing. My cousin, however, just throws whatever's dirty into her washer and runs it when it's full. Just wondering what the majority does.
Asked by The Older Woman - Wed Oct 25 15:45:01 2006 - - 16 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I separate whites, light colors, and dark colors. I usually wash bedding separately, because of comforters. I don't bleach towels, since they are colors, but I only use white washcloths, since I bleach those.

Wondering how to get behind the scenes in the entertainment business?
Q. I am interested in a career change, I live in calgary alberta and was wondering where to go to get experience or educated on this industry, I am not really interested in being an actress or anything. But more writing or producing or editing and such. Thanks in advance!

A. First, don't let anybody tell you you can't do it or how hard it is. On the other hand, as Morgan Freeman said, "Hollywood's not out there with doors open wide saying come one come all. You're going to pay dues to get in here." Best advice is to start by changing your day job to one at a studio, and from there, start networking. If you don't know anyone at the studio you want to work at, find out what employement agencies they use, go to those agencies, and say you want to be placed at that studio. You'll bypass the whole HR system (designed to keep people like you out, not let you in), and you'll be working at the studio in no time. From there, do your job like any other, work on your dream on the side, and make contacts.

Q. I have lost my car key and read that a locksmith could produce another key. Just wondering if a locksmith can replicate a key without the original and if I can give him details of my make of car etc? Thanks Key is 22 years old.

A. Yes! I had this done before, You need to show them proof that you own the car, sign a paper and I had to bring in the door lock cylinder from the passenger side door, because that on is not used hardly at all. practically brand new. Some are easy to remove. Just unscrew the door panel ,handle and what ever else hold it on, and you need to slide a clip off the door lock from inside and unhook the wire. take pics with your cell phone to make sure everything goes back the way you took it off.

Q. I've managed to get a load of marine flake food and I was wondering if I could use it to feed freshwater? Is there much of a difference and would it be harmful?

A. Well a marine tank is like brackish water. So they have salt in there tank. If you reed the back it should be straight forward. I suggest that you compare ingredients with a tropical fish food. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

I recently became vegetarian, I was wondering when you guys felt a real difference in your energy levels?
Q. I've felt a small difference, but I was wondering if it took a considerable amount of time to really notice the health and energy benefits. What are some of the best benefits (health benefits not ecological benefits) you have noticed?
Asked by v s - Sun Apr 25 02:00:39 2010 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I had so much more stamina when I was a vegetarian (and vegan, but the vegan part only lasted about 6 months to a year because I live in a rural area where it's hard to find vegan friendly foods besides raw things). I was a lot happier, too (I'm bipolar). Now, my husband and I can't afford for me to be vegetarian because I don't make enough money.

Q. Im wondering what other guitar pedals (esspecialy a wah pedal) would work with a Gigitech rp150 effects pedal. Im making a pedal board and i want some basic pedals to go with it. All answers are apprecated.

A. This question really depends on what you LIKE about the rp150. Might i recommend finding your favorite affects from the rp150 and building your board from there? If you like the wah, then maybe modulation pedals are your niche. The multi effects pedals are a great starting point.. but you really have a pedal board already. In terms of the wah - Look into the dunlop crybaby. Its not the BEST wah, but its certainly not a bad one. Other than that... remember that the more pedals, the less true your tone. Oh... and look for true bypass pedals you can KEEP. You get what you pay for. Good luck!

A. There is a chart you can download: Make sure when printing that the 1 inch measure corresponds with a real inch on a ruler, as some printers "shrink" print.

Q. A. I am not sure about any organizations. But I do know that if you contact some sports stores. They will often sponsor different local athletes (providing them with equipt, etc... ) I am sure that you could also speak to different gyms to see if they would be able to assist you in any way with personal training or just gym use. I do a 3 day challenge walk for Multiple Sclerosis every year and a local gym lets me use their facility while I train as long as on my shirt when I do the walk, I have something that says where I trained at. Hope that helps! Send me some info on your child, etc... nothing too personal of course, I will see what I can do. I am big with the MS Society but I am sure I could use some of my relationships to help… [cont.]

I was wondering how important it is to update my personal information in the AKO Army account?
Q. I just opened by AKO account. I saw there was a personal area asking for education background and other info. I was wondering how important that area is? Do my superiors see it? Do they have access to that profile? can that be some kind of resume?

A. It's not exactly important, but if someone you knew at a previous duty station or maybe from basic was trying to contact it would make it easier. Also soldiers who are coming to the base you're currently stationed at might contact you from time to time to inquire about the base, but that only happens on rare occasions.

A. It depends on the project, really. My parents spent over $2K on their house, but then again it was a large house. If you want to save money, find a college nearby that has an interior design program. Sometimes you'll be able to talk to the profs into letting some of the students work for you.

A. you can buy the filet migon at your local grocers with the bacon already wrapped around it. if not, i i would put some bacon around it, season it with salt and pepper and garlic salt. before i grill them, i get the A1 garlic and herb marinade and put that in a gallon ziplock bag and add the steaks and let them marinate over night. when i am ready to cook them, i put the bacon around them...very good when done...serve with baked potato and salad

A. Ask your doctor and see what Soothie suggests. Usually you don't switch until they're about 3 or 4 months old and can hold their head up a little better...but I don't think it's time to upgrade yet!

Q. We are using the Soothie bottles. My daughter is 9 weeks old. I don't think it's time to yet, but I was wondering when we should start considering it.
